About
About Investments Texas
Investments Texas is a plain-English, educational guide to the rules for owning investment real estate in Texas.
Who publishes it
Investments Texas is published by Vexidus Corporation, a holding company in aerospace and defense manufacturing, supply-chain software and security.
What this site is not
- Not an offer. Nothing here is an offer to sell, or a solicitation to buy, any security, fund or property. We don't promote or recommend any investment.
- Not advice. The guides are general education, not legal, tax or financial advice. Your situation needs a Texas attorney, CPA or other licensed professional.
- Not a broker. We don't list properties or take referral fees from the pages on this site.
How the guides are written
- Each guide cites the statute or authority behind the rule where practical, so you can check it.
- Rules that change often, especially property tax, are flagged. Check the current version.
- Guides are dated. The date at the foot of each guide shows when it was last reviewed.
Sources the guides rely on
- The Texas Property Code, Tax Code and Constitution, as published by the Texas Legislature.
- Guidance and forms from the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts.
- Rules and rate manuals from the Texas Department of Insurance, and contract forms from the Texas Real Estate Commission.
- IRS publications, forms and revenue procedures for federal tax topics.
- City websites for local rules such as short-term rental ordinances.
Where a rule is in flux, such as a temporary tax limit or a city ordinance under legal challenge, the guide says so rather than guessing how it will turn out.
